We are proud to announce that the 11147NAT Diploma of Project Controls, delivered by Project Controls Institute (PCI) Australia, has been officially accepted by the Association for Project Management (APM) as a pathway qualification for MAPM Full Membership.
This makes PCI Australia the first and only Registered Training Organisation (RTO 45806) in the Asia Pacific region whose Project Controls qualification provides graduates with a direct route — via APM's Route 1 pathway (Experience and Qualifications) — to Full Membership of one of the world's leading project management professional bodies.
What This Means for PCI Graduates
If you hold or are completing the PCI Diploma of Project Controls, you now have a formal, internationally recognised pathway to become a Full Member of APM (MAPM) — without additional bridging requirements.
This recognition:
- Validates your specialist skills on a global stage
- Strengthens your professional credibility across Australia, Asia Pacific, and beyond
- Opens doors to APM's global professional community, CPD resources, and career networks
- Positions project controls as a distinct, respected discipline — not a subset of general project management
Noe, CEO of Project Controls Institute Australia, said:
"The recognition of the Diploma of Project Controls by APM represents a significant milestone for both PCI and the project controls profession across Australia and the Asia Pacific region. For the first time, project controls professionals have a direct pathway through their qualification and experience to Full Membership of APM, one of the world's leading professional bodies. This recognition validates the importance of project controls as a specialist discipline and provides our graduates with access to an internationally recognised professional community, supporting both career progression and professional credibility."
APM's Director of Education and Lifelong Learning, Jackie Martin, added:
"We are pleased to recognise PCI's Diploma of Project Controls as an accepted pathway qualification for MAPM Full Membership. This recognition supports project controls professionals in Australia and across the Asia Pacific region to demonstrate their experience and commitment to professional standards, while helping to strengthen capability in a discipline that is vital to successful project delivery."
